Welcome to new creation INNs!
This site is for sharing vision about a new kind of small groups called new creation INNs, inspired by the story of the Good Samaritan. The inn was an essential part of the Samaritan's kindness, and an illustration to us of a "living INN", a welcoming Jesus community. (See the Good Samaritan passage HERE). INNs are a help towards the "how-to", a practical model for engaging believers in fruitful community small groups.
The primary focus and life-flow of the INN comes from engagement with the reality of the new creation - the Holy Spirit birth and baptism into union with Jesus together. This was central to the remarkable prayer Jesus prayed before He went to the cross to open the new creation reality and the answer to His prayer. (Check John 17:20-24). Understanding new creation identity, and activating the walk of faith that taps its power, opens the way to experiencing the reality of what Jesus is building on the earth - His body, His living temple, which is also His bride. None of this exists in the fallen realm, which is why new creation living is our highest priority, and greatest joy. INNs exist as a place to experience this together, engaging the dynamics of abundant body life where each person flourishes into purpose, and where together they can become mobilized into kingdom expansion.
New Creation INNs prioritize being one body together in the new creation life, becoming a place of welcome and nurture where Jesus can integrate new believers, just like He did in Acts 2:47.
"Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved." Acts 2:46-47
New creation INNs are alive! They are communities of believers that love to seek the heart of Jesus together. As they do that, they become inspired to join Him in His Samaritan exploits as His witnesses, serving together as one body out in society as He leads, and welcoming in those He saves.
"The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me." John 17:22-23
all ONE in Jesus together
INNs intentionally pursue unity across ethnicity, gender, age-group, and economic diversity, celebrating the one new creation from every tribe, tongue, nation, and people: "After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne" Revelation 7:9
"For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:27-28
"For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit." 1 Corinthians 12:13

WHY Luke 10:1-24
Jesus sends out the "others" because the harvest is plentiful and the workers are few
The task of reaching fallen humanity is vast and extremely urgent. The world's population is growing by 200,000 every day. Jesus urges the sending of workers into the harvest. The seventy were not the 12 chosen disciples. They are just called "others", ordinary people who Jesus sent to demonstrate and proclaim the Kingdom. INNs help mobilize ordinary believers from a secure base to co-work together with Jesus in the great harvest
WHAT Luke 10:25-37
Forming INNs: New Creation communities joined as ONE in the Father's love, a dwelling place for Jesus, ready to welcome those He saves
The Good Samaritan would not have succeeded in helping the beaten-up man if there was no inn to take him to. Reading the story as a gospel parable, the beaten-up man is the whole fallen creation, and the Samaritan is Jesus, who came to seek and save the lost and bring His new creation solution! "INNs" are new creation communities that join Jesus in His Samaritan works in a broken, hurting world, and stand ready to welcome those He saves into His flourishing family with them.
HOW Luke 10:38-42
Jesus commended Mary of Bethany for choosing the "one thing" that was necessary - taking time to listen to Him
Jesus said Mary chose the one thing that is necessary, sitting undistracted at His feet, listening to Him. This is a core value in INN building, where believers seek always to keep Jesus in first place, living as one with Him, learning shared discernment together, and following His leading. Just as Jesus only did His Father's will, so INNs seek to join with Jesus as His body, to outwork the specific part of His will that He reveals and stirs in them together
